Studio Policies, & Procedures

Communication

  • Our primary means of communication and all important correspondence will be sent via email. Please ensure that you provide us with a current email address that you check regularly.


  • Information is also posted on Facebook & Instagram. Please Follow!!!


  • When your dancer is absent, please communicate via email or call the office so that class impact or performance impact will be minimal.

Intellectual Property Policy

Choreography, Logo, Studio Name, and Studio Policies remain intellectual property and may not be reproduced or sold by any student, parent, or staff.


It is dishonorable and prohibited to profit financially for any production or activity related to the studio, i.e. duplicate tickets for entry or create/recreate studio merchandise (with or without studio name, logo, or lingo) to sell/side hustle to patrons or dancer for profit or self gain.

Conflict of Interest (Multiple Studio Policy

Any dancer enrolled with In the Key of Dance Studio shall not have any contractual agreements and enrollments with multiple studios. Parents must figure out their best option of choice. Every studio trains differently and the dancer is the ultimate priority and should never have to chose between performances and missed classes due to conflict of scheduling, cost, confusion with training styles, etc...

Injuries

Injuries are taken very seriously. If a dancer is injured, they are encouraged to sit and take notes to not only eliminate further injury, but to not miss what training transpired during classes.  

Release, Consent, and Transfer of Rights

Dancer and Dancer's guardian understand that In the Key of Dance Studio dancers may be photographed or videotaped in rehearsals, performances, and class time. As further consideration to In the Key of Dance Studio, dancers and his/her guardians hereby express consent, release, and transfer to In the Key of Dance, in advance, any and all rights to said photographs and/or videotaping of dancing in rehearsals, performances, and classroom sessions. Consistent with the above consent, dancer and his/her guardian understands that In the Key of Dance Studio & In the Key of Dance Performing Arts Inc. (Nonprofit Entity), may use such photographs or videos for promotional purposes for In the Key of Dance. Dancer and dancer's guardian understand such assignment shall survive the termination of the agreement.    

Make-Up Classes

  • Absences due to a dancer's conflicting schedule does not qualify for a make-up class.
  • We Follow Rockdale School Holiday Closures, breaks, along with Halloween Closures which the parent isn't charged for. Therefore, these closures won't qualify for make-up classes.
  • We do not offer make-up classes for classes missed. Dancers are expected to attend classes on a regular bases and is necessary to advance through levels of study.

Class Cancellations

In the Key of Dance reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment. Enrolled families will be contacted to discuss alternative options.


Holiday Closings & Cancellations: The studio will generally follow the holiday schedule observed by the traditional Rockdale County School System (not year-round schedule). There are some school holidays and teacher workdays that are NOT holidays at In the Key of Dance. The studio does not provide make-up classes for local & national governmental mandated closures, power failures, or any other natural acts of God that forces us closure to ensure you're dancer's safety that is of no fault of our own. 

Substitutions

We reserve the right to schedule a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled instructor is ill or otherwise unable to teach class. If the studio cannot arrange a substitute instructor, a make-up date will be scheduled.

Fundraisers

Funds earned from fundraising events must be spent for the purpose it was intended. This included all fundraising activities! The studio shall keep a record of all funds relative to the predetermined purchasing intent of the student. Please note that funds that are raised for the intent of dance activities shall not be refunded for any reasons.

Co-Parenting Clause

In case of family separation, only one invoice will be billed. Both parties must discuss which parent is finically responsible for the full monthly payments to the studio. In the Key of Dance cannot accept split payments from multiple family members of different households.

Studio Rules

  • All studio complaints or concerns must go through the studio director or receptionist. To maintain respect, order, clarity, and a sound conclusion, parents must set up a meeting.


  • Director reserves the right to change teachers or timetabling at any time throughout the year.


  • We are unable to take responsibility for our students roaming around outside of their scheduled time at the studio. It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure that they are dropped off and picked up on time. In case of unavoidable delay, please call the studio to let us know that your dancer will be hanging around the facility


  • Costume, Choreography, and Music Selections are at the discretion/vision of the instructor. Opinions, Suggestions, or Challenges to any of the 3 may not change the vision of the instructor.
