Communication & Social Media

Dancers in silver costumes performing a leap on stage.

Communication

Our primary method of communication for all important studio information, including tuition, scheduling, announcements, reminders, and studio updates, is email. Due to growing enrollment, email will remain our first source of communication. Families are responsible for providing an active email address that's checked regularly.

Failure to review email communications does not exempt families from studio policies, deadlines, or requirements.

GROUP CHATS, OFF-STUDIO RELATIONSHIPS & SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

In the Key of Dance serves students from a variety of schools, communities, and family backgrounds. Students may naturally build friendships through shared participation in classes, rehearsals, performances, and studio activities.

These relationships are encouraged in a respectful and positive manner.

However, all off-studio interactions, communications, and relationships occur outside the supervision and control of In the Key of Dance.

Off-Studio Communication & Relationships

The studio does not supervise, monitor, or manage communication or interactions that occur outside of official studio activities.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Group text messages and group chats (iMessage, GroupMe, WhatsApp, etc.)

  • Video chats and video calls (FaceTime, Zoom, social media video platforms, etc.)

  • Private messaging between students or families

  • School-based relationships and interactions

  • Social gatherings, transportation arrangements, or family-to-family coordination outside of studio events

In the Key of Dance is not responsible or liable for any communication, behavior, disputes, conflicts, misunderstandings, or incidents that occur outside of official studio-sponsored classes, rehearsals, performances, or events.

Parents and guardians are solely responsible for monitoring their child’s participation in all off-studio communication and digital interactions.

Social Media Policy

Social media includes all platforms and communication tools, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, messaging apps, group chats, and video communication platforms.

Families and students agree that:

  • No sensitive or internal studio information may be shared online, including tuition, scheduling, placement, casting, or internal communications
  • All concerns, complaints, or studio-related matters must be communicated directly to studio management via official channels, not social media
  • Posts, comments, messages, or content that are defamatory, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, or harmful toward staff, students, or families will not be tolerated
  • Families and students may not use private or unofficial online groups to discuss studio business, disputes, or internal matters
  • Studio photos and videos must be used respectfully and in alignment with their intended purpose when shared publicly

Any online behavior, group communication, or off-studio conduct that negatively impacts the studio environment, students, staff, or families may result in intervention, including parent communication, disciplinary action, suspension, or dismissal from the studio.

In the Key of Dance is not responsible for monitoring private communication between families or students and does not assume liability for interactions occurring outside of official studio activities.
