Dancer and Dancer's guardian understand that In the Key of Dance Studio dancers may be photographed or videotaped in rehearsals, performances, and class time. As further consideration to In the Key of Dance Studio, dancers and his/her guardians hereby express consent, release, and transfer to In the Key of Dance, in advance, any and all rights to said photographs and/or videotaping of dancing in rehearsals, performances, and classroom sessions. Consistent with the above consent, dancer and his/her guardian understands that In the Key of Dance Studio & In the Key of Dance Performing Arts Inc. (Nonprofit Entity), may use such photographs or videos for promotional purposes for In the Key of Dance. Dancer and dancer's guardian understand such assignment shall survive the termination of the agreement.
We reserve the right to schedule a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled instructor is ill or otherwise unable to teach class. If the studio cannot arrange a substitute instructor, a make-up date will be scheduled.
In the Key of Dance maintains one primary account per dancer, regardless of family structure, custody arrangements, or living situations.
All tuition, fees, and studio-related charges are issued under a single account and invoice per student.
The studio does not divide invoices, split billing between multiple households, or manage financial arrangements between parents or guardians.
It is the responsibility of the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) to determine how payment responsibilities are shared between parties. In the Key of Dance will not act as a mediator in financial agreements between households.
All payments must be made through the designated account on file in accordance with studio billing policies.
Costume selections, choreography, and music are determined at the discretion of the studio owner and/or instructors in alignment with the overall artistic vision and program goals.
These decisions are final once established and implemented for classes, rehearsals, or performances.
While families are always welcome to communicate questions or concerns through appropriate studio channels, artistic direction will not be altered based on personal preference.
In the Key of Dance is not responsible for supervising students outside of their scheduled class, rehearsal, or program times.
It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure that students are dropped off and picked up promptly at their designated times.
Students should not be left unattended for extended periods before or after class. While the studio may allow students to wait in designated areas as needed, supervision outside of scheduled instruction time remains the responsibility of the parent or guardian.
In the event of an unavoidable delay in pick-up, parents must contact the studio as soon as possible to notify staff. This allows us to ensure the student remains safely inside the facility until pickup.
In the Key of Dance reserves the right to change, adjust, or substitute instructors at any time throughout the season as needed.
The studio also reserves the right to modify class schedules, timetables, class placement, or program structure when necessary to support enrollment, staffing needs, facility requirements, or overall studio operations.
While every effort is made to maintain consistency, changes may occur during the season to ensure the continued quality and smooth operation of the program.
All studio concerns, questions, or complaints must be directed to the studio director or designated office staff.
To ensure clarity, professionalism, and appropriate resolution, parents are required to schedule a meeting or communicate concerns through official studio channels rather than addressing them informally during class times, rehearsals, or in passing.
This process allows the studio to properly review, respond to, and resolve concerns in a respectful and organized manner.
We ask that all communication remain constructive and solution-focused so that concerns can be addressed fairly and efficiently.
Funds earned through studio fundraising activities are designated for specific studio-related purposes as communicated for each event or campaign.
All fundraising proceeds must be used exclusively for their intended purpose, such as tuition assistance, costumes, travel, performances, or other designated dance-related expenses.
The studio will maintain records of funds raised and their designated use to ensure proper allocation.
Funds raised through fundraising activities are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash under any circumstances.
All choreography, studio name, logo, branding, music edits, class materials, and written studio policies are the intellectual property of In the Key of Dance.
These materials may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, sold, or used for personal or external business purposes by any student, parent, staff member, or third party without written permission from the studio owner.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Any unauthorized reproduction, resale, or distribution of studio intellectual property is strictly prohibited.
In the Key of Dance reserves the right to take appropriate action in response to any violation of this policy, including removal from programs if necessary.
To promote consistency in training, performance preparation, and student development, dancers enrolled at In the Key of Dance may not maintain active enrollment or contractual agreements with other local dance studios during the same season.
This policy helps ensure continuity in technical instruction, choreography retention, scheduling, and performance commitments.
Because each studio utilizes different teaching methods, terminology, expectations, and performance calendars, participation in multiple studio programs can create conflicts that impact the dancer's progress and overall experience.
Enrollment at In the Key of Dance represents a commitment to fully participate in the studio's classes, rehearsals, performances, and program requirements. Students are expected to prioritize their responsibilities to the studio throughout the season.
Consistent attendance, commitment, and participation are essential factors in placement, progression, casting, and performance eligibility.
Injuries are taken seriously at In the Key of Dance. Dancers who are unable to participate due to injury are encouraged to attend class and observe instruction whenever possible.
Observation allows dancers to remain engaged in their training, retain choreography, take notes, and stay informed of class material while reducing the risk of further injury.
The Artistic Director or instructor may require an injured dancer to observe class rather than participate until it is determined that participation is safe. Medical clearance may be required before returning to full activity.
